It heats up almost instantly. Timer works great. And I love how it
keeps food WARM after steaming in case your timing with other courses
isn't perfect. This prevents the biggest draw back to steaming... how
quickly it cools. The perfect size for my shelf but large enough for big
portions. Easy to clean. Yup, so glad I really looked around until I
found this gem! Haven't tried the rice.
I was looking for a steamer for a few weeks. My mom has one that she
just loves. However, some of the reviews I had read on other steamers
were not so good such as the water reservoir was hard to clean out after
use creating in mold buildup in the reservoir. That totally disgusted
me. Then, I read the reviews on this steamer and they were so good. So I
did purchase this about 3 weeks ago. I have used this almost on a daily
basis. It is so easy to pour remaining water out of the reservoir and
then just wipe it dry with a towel. So easy. No mold. No fuss. The
entire unit is extremely easy to clean which I love.
This steamer
does an excellent job at steaming the food as well. So far, I have only
done veggies. Not sure if I would like steamed fish or chicken, but may
try that one day too.
My kids absolutely love the steamed
veggies. I was surprised by that. All I do when they are done in the
steamer is put them in a bowl and add a very small amount of olive oil
and a very small amount of sea salt. They go crazy for this. I have done
carrots, fresh green beans, fresh aspargus, fresh broccoli, fresh
cauliflower, and frozen corn on the cob. So delicious. Definitely worth
buying. I would recommend this steamer to all my family and friends.
